About Me:

Hi, I’m Kelly.

I have always been a seeker, passionate about understanding people and connections, which led me to pursue a career in counseling.  For the past two decades, my focus has been on supporting children, teens and their families. Working in a large high school allow me to see a diverse group of students and families. What was clear was parents wanted to connect with their children and children wanted to be understood by their parents. But there was a disconnect. Kids were communicating with their behavior, lack of behavior or what was seen as misbehavior. It was like Morse Code and adults were not given the key. This is why I became a conscious parenting coach.  I want to share a unique road map that blends western psychology and eastern philosophy. Where connection is at the center and can transform relationships. As a parent of two, a counselor and a coach I know this paradigm is powerful for those who are willing to think outside the box.

  • I have a Masters of Education in Counseling and Sport Psychology from Boston University.

  • Facilitated groups with Steve Gross founder of  Project Joy (LIfe is Good) using play and engagement to overcome childhood trauma

  • Provided outreach counseling to kids in care of the state at Bay State Community Services

  • Facilitated and supported parents in the adoption process and matched kids in care of the state ,  Adoption RI, with Darlene Allen

"Kelly, truly when I think of it I have met you only a handful of times, and yet I feel our connection is amazing. You are so very special to me. Your work, your integrity, your compassion, your willingness to go above and beyond...you are who this community needs. You have been a reliable resource, a font of knowledge. You have truly been a gift. Thank you for all you have done for and have been for me and all our moms.” Carol W. Portsmouth Rhode Island

What People Are Saying

After years of working with several therapists, I found someone who really got to the root of my issues.  I had the privilege of having Kelly as my coach to help me through some challenging teen years with my child.  She helped me to see that in fact it was not my child, but rather myself.  I left each session feeling like I was walking away with insight I never heard before, or a tool which helped me cope and could use in my daily life.  Kelly has the ability to quickly make you feel at ease.  She has a gentle side which allows the client to feel safe, yet she pushed me through my vulnerabilities and fears so I could safely face my road blocks.  She is extremely professional and prepared for each session and helped me to go deeper into my wounds and trauma.  It is evident that her experience along with her wisdom are the catalyst to having a great client-coach relationship.  She breaks down complex concepts into a way that one could use it in everyday life. I always felt like I was in a safe space with Kelly.  Thank you, Kelly.  My life has changed because of you.

Kelly understands the needs of and advocates for adolescents like no one I have ever encountered in my 23 years as an educator. When my son was struggling emotionally, Kelly stepped in and helped him to get through some of the darkest days. Her ability to get him to open up and share his thoughts as well as come up with strategies to manage his anxiety and depression have helped shape him into the man he has become. I am proud to say that he has now successfully graduated from college and is beginning his career. I am so grateful to Kelly for helping our family through difficult days with care, compassion, and guidance. I am so grateful for her and highly recommend her.

Kelly is an active listener who hears what you are saying and at times what you are not saying. A calm approach with "big picture" thinking as she helps you deal with a personal or family struggle. Her experience with students and families was priceless as we worked at the high level together. - Kathy M. Guidance Counselor , PHS.
